From day one, we knew we didn’t want to be just another cannabis corporation. To be around for the long haul, we had to build our brands with purpose. And, for our brands to have a purpose, we had to have one. So, we built this organization in the only way we felt was right, by contributing 10% of profit to transformative initiatives that positively impact our communities, planet and society as a whole.

Trang Trinh CPA, CA  — CEO & Founding Director  A recognized strategy and operations leader with 10+ years of experience. Completed 10+ transactions ranging between $1 million to $14 billion during her consulting career at Deloitte, leading the cannabis sector with an M&A lens. Trang brings vision, deep relationships in the sector, mentorship and kindness to her role in leading TREC Brands.

Peter Machalek  — VP Partnerships & Sales  A sales, licensing and distribution maverick with vast experience in international licensing rights and global distribution from his time at Adbloc Media. Peter not only brings with him the experience to license our brands, but also his ability to create deep relationships with extensive distribution networks across the world.

Kayla Rochkin  — VP Marketing  A brand builder, storyteller and innovator, Kayla is known for building brands with a purpose and creating meaningful connections with consumers. Having worked with Coca-Cola, Virgin Mobile, Cheerios, Lucky Charms and more. She led the recreational marketing charge at CannTrust, bringing the organization through legalization - with four brands and over 90 skus. Kayla continues to pursue her mission of purpose driven marketing as the VP of Marketing at TREC Brands.

Alex Cohen CPA, CA  —   VP Finance  A thoroughly analytical finance expert, Alex brings with him the experience of successfully integrating 2 multi-billion dollar acquisitions in his previously held position as Director of Treasury and Strategic Projects at Element Fleet Management.

Basem Hanna  —   Chairman & Founding Director  Basem is a pioneer in the cannabis space. He founded Terrascend 4 years ago, now one of the largest licensed producers in the industry. As CEO, he brought it public (through a $52.2million placement). Basem embodies the values of TREC brands, day in and day out, inspiring the rest of the team with his knowledge, vision, and kind attitude.

Charles Kabouth  — Founding Director  Current CEO and founder of INK entertainment - a globally recognized entrepreneur, visionary and fashion icon in the Canadian nightlife scene. Charles brings with him a realm of experience and success building premium experiences and connecting with consumers at the core.

Matt Shalhoub  — Board Member  Co-founded and has been a Managing Partner of Green Acre Capital since inception. He spent the eight years prior to this managing venture capital backed companies. He currently sits on the boards of TREC Brands, Weekend Holdings, Ample Organics, Humble + Fume and Friendly Stranger. He graduated with honours from the University of Western Ontario, receiving an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
